Song #43: "83" by John Mayer

I love John Mayer's Room For Squares record. In fact its probably in my top 10 favorite albums of all time.  The song "83" reminds me of my childhood.  I just love it.  This isn't the best version of the song, so check it out on the album.  Happy Friday!

Song #42: "I Want You Back" by The Jackson 5

"I Want You Back" by The Jackson 5 has to be one of the best pop songs ever written.  I just love it!  Whenever I hear it, it makes me so happy.  Gotta love that young Michael Jackson.  Hope it puts a smile on your face today too!

Song #41 "So This Is Love" by Sara Gazarek

Yes, this is the same "So This Is Love" from Disney's Cinderella.  I love this version by this artist Sara Gazarek.  She's an amazing jazz singer.  I wish she would make another album.  This isn't the best version of her singing this song.  Check out her live album with it.

Song #40 "What I Did For Love" from A Chorus Line

17 years ago today, the world lost a very amazing young lady.  She was so talented & beautiful.  She sang this song at a high school talent show, so I always think of her when I hear it.  I miss you Meredith!

"Sad Songs" by Elton John is such an '80's song & I love it!  

Song #38 "The Way You Look Tonight" by Frank Sinatra

Since today is Valentine's day, I've chosen my favorite song ever (that just happens to be a love song).  It's "The Way You Look Tonight" by Frank Sinatra (the best version ever!).  Happy love day!!!!

Song #37 "Walking On Broken Glass" by Annie Lennox

So, I've totally been bad about deciding on a song everyday lately.  Not sure that anyone even looks a this blog so I'm sure that it won't even matter.  So anywho...I've chosen "Walking On Broken Glass" by Annie Lennox.  Annie has got to have one of the most amazing voices out there.  I also love this video cause John Malkovich is in it and when I just re-watched it, Hugh Laurie (aka Dr. House) is in it too.  Regardless of who's in the video, I love this song and she sings the fire out of it!

Song #36 "Buena Sera" by Louis Prima

I adore Louis Prima.  I chose "Buena Sera" tonight because I just had a huge Italian meal at Carrabba's.  It's my favorite song by Louis too.  Mainly because of the line about the wedding ring in Napoli.  It kind of reminds me of when I got engaged in Florence, Italy...then we went to Napoli (well actually the Amalfi Coast, but we did go to the train station in Napoli).

Song #35 "Home" by Marc Broussard

I'm mainly choosing "Home" by Marc Broussard tonight because I'm so glad to be home after it took me almost 4 hours to get here.  Dang snow & dang terrible driving Nashvillians.  I do also love Marc Broussard.

Song #34 "Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life" by Monty Python

Oops, I forgot to blog yesterday.  Well, I'm gonna be positive and go on with it.  I adore the Monty Python show & movies.  I even got to see the original broadway cast of Spamalot (which was amazing!).  So, I've chosen "Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life" tonight because underneath the humor, I do like it's message.  I'm definitely a sunny side up kind of thinker.  I guess you could say that I would even recommend this song as advice to some people.

Song #33 "Lay Back Down" by Eric Lindell

I don't even remember how I found out about Eric Lindell, but I've definitely become a big fan of his.  Hope you'll dig him too.

Song #32 "Scenes From An Italian Restaurant" by Billy Joel

One of the best concerts I've ever seen is Billy Joel (next to Prince & Paul McCartney).  I love the way he tells a story like in "Scenes From An Italian Restaurant."  What an amazing songwriter & artist.

Song #31 Won't Get Fooled Again by The Who

The Who just oozes rock & roll.  Won't Get Fooled Again is one of my favs of theirs.  Of course most people will also recognize it from one of the CSI intros.  Happy Rock & Roll Friday!

Song #30 - King Of The Road by Roger Miller

I think Roger Miller is such a great songwriter.  I bought a CD of his greatest hits a few years ago and I just love it.  People don't write songs like that anymore (well, radio wouldn't play them so they don't write 'em and how sad would it be if we never had Roger Miller).  King Of The Road is one of my favorites that he did.  I love this version from Roger's show with Dean Martin.

Song #29 "Can't Buy Me Love" by The Beatles

"Cant Buy Me Love" by The Beatles is one of my top 5 favorite songs of all time.  I ALWAYS listen to it when it comes on my iPod or on the radio.  It always puts me in a good mood.  The lyrics are so simple and catchy and that's what's so amazing about it.  Hope it puts you in a good mood too.

Song #28 "Ants Marching" by Dave Matthews Band

When I think about Dave Matthews Band, it takes me back to my senior year in high school when the Under The Table & Dreaming album came out (still my favorite).  I chose "Ants Marching" today because I heard it on the radio and it took me back to those innocent days when I thought I knew it all and really had no clue.  Funny how music can do that!  Anyway, here's today's song...
